Something for Grandma and Grandpa in Hong Kong

We celebrated Sophie's 1st birthday today.

Only one week late.
Nai Nai and Papa weren't here last weekend, so we saved the celebration for today.

She loved the candle and the singing.

Here is her first tentative examination of the cupcake.
Like many one year olds, Sophie started off uncertain...

...quickly learned that frosting is messy (& fun)...

...and finally became a full-blown cake-addict.

After taking a bath, she was ready for presents.
A pull-frog from Nai Nai and Papa,
A Bible from Aunt Christina and Uncle Benji,
A puzzle from Aunt Amy,
A bead toy from Mommy and Daddy,
And a naked doll with no hair from Anna.
